What is the best way to connect to 1.25" pvc stub out on my kitchen island sink?

My kitchen island stub out size is 1.25" and the standard trap adapter I found online is 1.5". Should I increase the size the pipe to 1.5" and use the trap adapter? Or is there a better way? Thanks!
