Is now a good time to become a plumber?

I am considering making a career change and becoming a plumber because that corporate life just isn't for me. BUT, I am thankful to have a job right now considering everything that happened last year and I don't want to put myself in a precarious position by switching careers during a recession. Im particularly interested in joining a union but considering that construction might be slowing down due to the economy and positions are filled based on seniority... is joining a union now a good idea? Should I go open shop? If you work in a union and can't find full-time work, what do you do? submitted by /u/travlingwonderer [link] [comments]
