How To Stop "Ball Drop" Sound After Sump Pump Turns Off? (Video)

When my sump pump turns off, there's a distinct "ball drop" sound. It sounds exactly like a ball bouncing on the sump pump resovoir. Does anyone know what this is and how to stop it? Do you think installing a quiet check valve will fix the problem? Or does the entire sump pump need to be replaced? I've read online that it could also be that the float valve needs to be adjusted a bit higher, so that more of the pump is submerged. Thanks Edit: Here is the video: https://streamable.com/k5z2sg submitted by /u/2020random2019 [link] [comments]
