Boiler's pressure release valve dripping water every time it's on.

Hello, my boiler's pressure release valve is leaking water every time I turn the boiler on. It does not matter if there is already hot water in it or the atmospheric temperature. Moreover, when I turn on a random warm water faucet in the house I can hear a whistling sound from the boiler and then the water drop from the valve stops. One day the warm water flexi tube of a tap got punctured out of the blue. I've brought a plumber to look at it, he replaced the valve and the flexi tube. The system was working fine for more than 10 years, I had never seen the valve leaking. I am afraid something will give soon, my plumber tells me not to worry and that the valve leaking water is fine, that I should just place a container underneath to catch the water and that the pressure of the whole district water system has increased in the past months. submitted by /u/Kirkulis [link] [comments]
